The check meter is an energy measuring device that allows you to measure energy (Electricity) consumption from just like PHCN Meter.

However, the check the major difference between the check meter and the normal PHCN meter is that it cannot be connected directly to the power source from the pole. It takes its power from the main meter already installed in the apartment or building. Hence it is also called SUB-METER.

The use of this meter is to measure energy consumption of buildings or apartments that already have a meter or what we refer to as an MD Meter. That’s where the check meter comes in. It will be installed in each shop to read accurately what each shop consumes, thereby each of them pay only for what they consume.

2. Post-Paid (single phase and three phase)

Pre-Paid: The pre-paid check meter works the same way as the PHCN prepaid meter works. The prepaid version comes with a vending app which will be downloaded on Google Play Store. With the app, you will be generate tokens based on your tariff. Immediately the energy loaded is consumed, power cuts off.

Post Paid: The post-paid works like the PHCN analog meters, the property manager or the Landlord will have to go to the meter and physically take the readings and multiply by the set tariff.
